The Commonwealth Judo Association wishes to express its deepest condolences after hearing the tragic news that Craig Fallon, 36, has died.

The 2002 Commonwealth Games gold medallist won the Worlds in 2003 and European Championships in 2006 and was undoubtedly one of the greatest judoka Britain has every produced.

Craig, who retired from competitive judo in 2011, had been coaching at Judo Landesverband Vorarlberg in Austria for the last two years, before joining the Welsh Judo Association in April as Head of Coaching.

CJA President Richard Kenney said: "It's just so sad. I send my condolences to Craig’s partner, family and friends. May he rest in peace."
